Institutional Innovative Ideas organized a workshop on the Quality Management System and its application in Municipalities (ISO 9001:2015) on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Movenpick Hotel in Beirut. The workshop was attended by 40 mayors, members of the municipal council and municipal staff from 17 municipalities from different Lebanese regions.

The goal of this workshop was to familiarize participants with the quality management system and the importance of its application in the municipal administration. The focus was on how Municipalities can take advantages of the quality management system because it standardizes the processes and procedures in the municipality, reduces disparities in the execution of municipal transactions, and aims to provide quality services that will increase the satisfaction of citizens.

The participants insisted that the municipalities seek to provide better services to citizens, but they also expressed fear of some obstacles and difficulties facing municipalities such as excessive control from the central government. The participants also urged donors to fund such projects because they contribute to emphasize the importance of good governance and increase citizens' confidence in the municipal work.
